Austin Steam Train
Home Page 2
Austin is the capatil of the state of Texas.  We made the trip from Duncanville, Texas to ride the Steam train.  The steam locomotive is at this time being rebuilt or matained.
We road with the ALCO Diesel-electric locomotive no. 442 pulling the train.  Boarding station is in Cedar Park and the train runs to Burnet and back. There is a two hour layover in Burnet for shoping and dinning.  Therty min. before reboarding the train in Burnet, there is a old town set of Burnet with a old time western shoot out.  I was to busy taking photos of the train to wory about that. Did git one photo though.

We, my wife and I along with my mother and father, wonted to go to Austin first on a Friday, to go to the COOP store of the
Universaty of Texas at Austin.
The first photos will be of the clock tower and the founton. Latter that day we went to Cedar Park to locate the station and came upon a new shoping center close by the station whare the rolling stock are keep when not in use.  There will be some photos of this to as well.

During the ride the train made an emergency stop.
Lost all of its air for the breaks. Problume was resolved and we went on with out any further trouble. Our return trip was delayed 30 min. due to the loss of air.

I do hope you enjoy your trip on the Austin Steam Train as I did.
